Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, writing from the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (KIBI) in New Delhi, India, shares this message for the people of Nepal, following the news of the latest earthquake:

To the people of Nepal

I am so very sorry to learn about the second major earthquake to strike your country, in just a matter of weeks.

We felt the tremors today even here at KIBI in New Delhi, and I can only try to imagine what it must have been like, what it is like, for all of you in Nepal.

I am proud of all of you for the strength and resilience you have shown over these past few weeks, and I am confident that you will continue to find similar strength and courage, drawing from your own inner qualities, as well as those of your loved ones.

Please know that my prayers are with you, now and always, and that we are never separate.
