Kagyu Monlam 2025 Announcement

December 3, 2025

We are happy to confirm that this year’s Kagyu Monlam will once again take place in Bodhgaya between 15 and 21 December. All sessions will be streamed here.

The Kagyu Monlam is an auspicious occasion for our worldwide Karma Kagyu family – an event for which thousands of monks, nuns and lay practitioners from East and West gather under the Bodhi Tree to offer aspirations for the benefit of all sentient beings.

This year’s Kagyu Monlam will be the 23rd Kagyu Monlam since 1996, when the late Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche initiated this precious practice for all Karma Kagyu practitioners to come together for the first time at the sacred venue of Bodhgaya.

Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, will once again lead the aspiration prayers under the Bodhi Tree, joined by many Rinpoches, Khenpos and Lamas.

We hope that many of you will be able to participate in this auspicious gathering and look forward to seeing you in Bodhgaya.
