Karmapa Public Course 2025: Impressions
March 15, 2025
On the 14th of July 2025, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, paid a visit to Karma Kunga Padkar Ling (Joyful Garden of the White Lotus), a meditation, relaxation, and healing centre located amidst the beautiful Krivoklat forests, at about an hour’s drive from Prague’s Nala Centre.
The new centre is still in the process of construction, but astonishing progress has already been made since Karmapa’s last visit a year ago. Once completed, the centre will not only be an access point for Buddha’s teachings and a training centre for traditional Tibetan medicine, but also feature the Five Elements Spa, a meditation garden with a stupa and several large statues, and accommodation for a large number of practitioners for future Dharma courses.
Upon his arrival, Karmapa was enthusiastically greeted by centre members, including several families with small children.
In the evening, Karmapa joined the assembled practitioners in the beautiful shrine room and held an extensive question-and-answer session, followed by a guided practice of the four-armed aspect of Avalokiteshvara (Tib: Chenresig).
Before he left, Karmapa blessed each and every one of the practitioners who had gathered for this special occasion and promised to come back before too long.
Please enjoy this selection of pictures from the extraordinary event.
