Karmapa Public Course 2025: Impressions
March 15, 2025
Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, arrived at the Dhagpo Möhra Buddhist Centre in central Germany on the late evening of Sunday, 6th of July, for a two-day visit. He was warmly welcomed by a group of residents and volunteers of the centre and the neighbouring Dharma village.
Dhagpo Möhra celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and preparations for the big celebratory event scheduled for the end of August are already in full swing.
On the 7th of July, Karmapa took time for extensive meetings with the various boards and groups responsible for the administration and running of Dhagpo Möhra. He was given a report of the activities and developments that have taken place over the last year since his last visit, and replied to the various questions concerning ongoing activities and future developments.
In the evening, Karmapa met with the local monastic and lay sangha in the temple of Dhagpo Möhra and held an extensive question-and-answer session, followed by a joint practice of Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenresig).
Karmapa departed Dhagpo Möhra in the afternoon of the 8th of July. Residents, volunteers and gathered practitioners bid him a warm farewell and expressed their hope that he would visit his centre again in the near future.
