Dear dharma friends

The loss of Sheila Dikshit is a cause of great sadness for Delhi and India.

India’s longest-serving female chief minister, Sheila Dikshit was instrumental in developing Delhi into the wonderful capital city that it is today.

Her life is a great inspiration and example for young girls and boys, and indeed for all of us who wish to make a difference in our lives.

As a resident in and guest of Delhi for many years, I have personally benefited from Sheila Dikshit’s tireless service to this city.

I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. I offer my prayers to all of you.

With prayers

Thaye Dorje

His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa
