Karmapa’s message for Lama Ole’s 80th birthday
On the auspicious occasion of Lama Ole’s 80th birthday, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, shares the following message:
Karmapa says:
Dear dharma friends
Today we celebrate someone who is both a tireless teacher and a precious gift to our Karma Kagyu lineage.
On the 80th birthday of Lama Ole, I rejoice in his innumerable activity and service for our family of practitioners.
For nearly 50 years, Lama Ole has helped make the Buddha dharma accessible to people around the world, giving talks, leading meditation courses, and founding over 600 Karma Kagyu centers in the process. This precious activity has accumulated immeasurable merit and joy.
We continue to pray for Lama Ole’s longevity so that he may continue to develop his activities for the sake of all sentient beings.
I offer prayers to the golden garland of the lineage masters of the Kagyupas to bless and protect Lama Ole. I invite all of my students to recite the mantra and sadhana of White Tara to pray for Lama Ole’s long and healthy life.
With prayers
Thaye Dore
His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa
