Indonesian earthquake: Karmapa’s message

August 9, 2018

Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, shares the following message concerning the earthquake that struck the Indonesian island of Lombok on Sunday.

Dear dharma friends,

On Sunday, a major earthquake on the Indonesian island of Lombok led to at least 347 people losing their lives.

Nearly 1,500 people were injured and more than 165,000 people were displaced by the earthquake at Lombok, which was hit by another earthquake only a week before, killing 16 people.

May all people find peace from their spiritual practices, regardless of their background, religion or philosophy.

May all beings be free of suffering and the cause of suffering.

With prayers

Thaye Dorje
His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa
