In 1997 Lama Ole visited the Latvian capital for the first time. Since then there has been a Diamond Way Buddhist group in Riga, practicing in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, and the number of members is constantly growing. Since 2002 the Buddhist centre is located in a wooden building on Mezha Street in a quiet district of Pardaugava. During several intense years of renovation the interior was replanned and refurbished, the foundations of the house reinforced, the grounds around landscaped, and the house got a second wind. Now anyone is welcome to come and learn about the teachings of the Buddha.
Center representatives can update the details of their centers here.
