The Amden Diamond Way Buddhist Retreat Centre was bought and started in 2003 by the Swiss Karma Kagyu Foundation as a project of the whole Swiss Sangha and under the guidance of Lama Ole Nydahl. It has been visited by many high lamas of the Karma Kagyu lineage including Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Shamar Rinpoche, Jigme Rinpoche, Mipham Rinpoche, Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche and others.
