Karmapa to visit Singapore and Indonesia

September 23, 2014

At the end of this month, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, will set off on nearly two weeks of Dharma events in south-east Asia. Karmapa first visits Singapore from 26 September to 3 October. Then he will travel to Indonesia.

In Singapore, Karmapa will lead a tribute to His Holiness Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche. He will then bestow the empowerment of Buddha Amitabha (Tib. Opagme). Shamar Rinpoche is an emanation of Buddha Amitabha. Karmapa will also hold a public forum on Inner Wealth, and take part in several other events. For more information, see the event page about Karmapa in Singapore 2014.

In Indonesia, Karmapa will perform the pujas (Buddhist ceremonies) of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (Tib. Chenresig), the embodiment of the enlightened compassion of all Buddhas, and White Dzambhala (a Buddha aspect associated with wealth), among other events.
