Once again, the end of this year's KIBI course was marked by a very special event: six days of teachings and empowerments by His Holiness, the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje. About 300 people from east and west attended the program. Besides the program with H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa there were teachings by Khenpo Tsering and Prof. Sempa Dorje every day.

Before the teachings on March 11, a new book, written by Prof. Sempa Dorje on Tibetan grammar was introduced to the public.

Then, H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa answered many questions from the students and there was an atmosphere of great interest in the Buddha Dharma. After the teachings on March 11th, the new Karmapa International Buddhist Society (K.I.B.S.) was introduced to the public. K.I.B.S. is a newly founded charitable society by H.H. the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, who envisions to develop his activities in keeping with modern times. The main reason for founding this new society is to systematize the religious training centres, educational institutes and charity work under his supervision.

On March 12th, H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa gave the empowerment of Karmapakshi, the 2nd Karmapa. March 13th, H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa gave reading transmissions (Lungs) for several hours. Afterward, he was requested to meditate with everyone present. His Holiness guided a meditation in Chenresig (Avalokiteshvara), the Buddha of compassion.









On March 14th, the yearly graduation ceremony of the K.I.B.I. students was performed. After the traditional group pictures in front of the main temple, 8 students were congratulated by H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa for completing four years of studies in the Karmapa International Buddhist Institute.

On March 15th, the last day of the program, H.H. Gyalwa Karmapa gave the empowerment of White Tara. The program was concluded with a festive dinner in the garden of KIBI in the presence of H.H. and Jigme Rinpoche.
