May 24, 2017

Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, will be embarking on a dharma tour of Singapore and Malaysia later this year.

From 2 October – 10 October, Karmapa will be in Singapore, the focal point of his South East Asian tour.

In Karmapa’s fifth visit to Singapore, his activities will include blessing a completely rebuilt and modernised centre of the Karma Kagyud Buddhist Centre; presiding over initiations and a Monlam; consecrating images of the Buddha, and offering other dharma teachings to thousands of practitioners.

In the run up to Karmapa’s visit to Singapore, he will visit Malaysia from 26 September – 2 October 2017. The theme of Karmapa’s visit will be ‘Timeless Happiness,’ a subject that he has previously spoken about.

Karmapa’s activities in Malaysia include presiding over the 1st Grand Kagyu Monlam and Tongchod, which will include collective aspiration prayers with 1,000 offerings for world peace, the prosperity of all nations, and the liberation of all sentient beings. Karmapa will also preside over several pujas and empowerments; consecrate relics; bless the new shrine at the Karma Kagyud Dharma Society (KKDS); and he will be the guest of honour at KKDS’ 43rd Anniversary Gala Dinner.
