Karmapa arrives in Kalimpong

Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, arrived today in Kalimpong to lead two weeks of pujas following the passing of His Holiness Kunzig Shamar Rinpoche. Shamar Rinpoche’s kudung, or mortal remains, will remain in Kalimpong for two weeks, before going to Kathmandu, where the cremation will take place on 31 July 2014.
