Comment: 2001, Nepal, Lumbini, November 2001 Opening Ceremony of the new Karma Kagyu Monastery in Lumbini Karmapa said in the speech among others, that studies of the history of Tibet show how much in early days, when Buddhism was brought to Tibet, the then Nepalese king supported the Tibetan translators when they travelled through his country and stayed there to study the dharma. And that today too, in the present century, Nepal facilitates the possibility of Buddhist studies for a worldwide audience.
